The competition routine of Chen style Taijiquan is famous for its distinctive rhythm and the magnificent postures. When practising, it is important to emphasize on the “spiral twisting force” and the basic requirements of relaxing, agility and springing which are the special features of Chen style Taijiquan. Chen Style Taijiquan 56 Form, compiled on the basis of traditional Chen Style Taijiquan First and Second Routines, is one of the most typical competition routines in various international martial art competitions.
Ms Gu Qing wrote this book and hope more Chinese and non-Chinese people to acquaint the benefits of learning and practicing Chen Style Tai Chi. For this reason, each style of 56 forms is illustrated by photos with movement direction as well as both English and Chinese text to explain in this book.
Basic martial art techniques such as Slide Step and Hand Twining are also introduced. Beginners’ questions are answered and common mistakes are pin-pointed.
This is a good textbook for Chen Style Taiji Lessons and also a good self-learning tool for Chinese martial art.
