TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Tourism Administration exhibited a Taiwan booth at the Chicago Travel and Adventure Show on Saturday and Sunday.

According to the administration’s New York office, Taiwan’s booth highlighted the country’s natural beauty and culture. It also featured activities such as writing Spring Festival couplets, Taiwanese marble games, paper cutting, and a divination block game with prizes.

During the exhibition, members of the Formosa Association of Student Cultural Ambassadors performed traditional Taiwanese Indigenous dance, dragon and lion dance, and the San Tai Zi dance. Taiwan booth staff promoted tourism with Taiwan-themed flags and slogans, per CNA.

Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago Director Dennis Lei (類延峰) attended the fair. He said that Taiwan’s convenient transportation, thriving economy, local cuisine, natural landscapes, and lifestyle make it a must-visit destination for foreign tourists.

Lei said direct flights connect Taipei and Chicago. He added that US citizens can visit Taiwan visa-free for 90 days and use automated immigration clearance.

The booth also provided Taiwan travel information. To attract foreign tourists, Taiwan High Speed Rail partnered with the administration to launch a promotion offering one free ride for every two foreign passengers.

The administration also participated in the New York Travel and Adventure Show from Jan. 25 to Jan. 26, where its booth was recognized as the best in the Asia region.
